Here’s where Xur is in Destiny 2 today, and what you should buy from him

Xûr is Destiny 2’s Exotic gear merchant. He appears every weekend to sell the game’s most coveted items in exchange for Legendary shards, but if you’re a casual player with limited shards to spend, it can be hard to know which of his wares is most worth your investment. That’s where we come in.
Xûr appears every Friday at 17:00 GMT (10:00 Pacific), and will stick around until the Tuesday reset. We’ll update this guide shortly after he arrives, so if you’re reading this, you need only read on to learn where he is, and which are the best items he’s selling this week. Ever since the Forsaken expansion, Xûr’s icon no longer appears on your director, so he’s not quite as easy to track down as he used to be.
That said, his appearances in the EDZ, Titan, Nessus, Io, and The Tower have been in the same places he frequented in vanilla Destiny 2. So if you’ve been following Destiny 2 from the start, you should have no problem finding the merchant’s spots.

Xûr is back on Io this week, at Giant’s Scar. He is selling:
  • The Queenbreaker, a Heavy linear fusion rifle, for 29 legendary shards
  • Oathkeeper, Exotic Hunter gauntlets, for 23 legendary shards
  • Mk. 44 Stand Asides, Exotic Titan leg armour, for 23 legendary shards
  • Ophidian Aspect, Exotic Warlock gauntlets, for 23 legendary shards
The Queenbreaker has the Wire Rifle perk, which gives you a long-range Arc bolt that can blind enemies on hit. Beyond that, it’s crazy – it draws fast, has a liberal hitbox, and can 1-shot enemies in PvP. The only limitation is its reliance on heavy ammo, but even with that in mind it’s a heck of a pick for the Crucible.

Oathkeeper lets you hold bow charges indefinitely through Adamantine Brace. It’s an infamously dull Exotic, though it does have obvious utility for bow users which will increase that weapon’s versatility. That’s mostly useful in PvP, and even then it’ll be a stretch to get excited about what Oathkeeper is bringing to the table.
Mk. 44 Stand Asides give you an overshield while sprinting at full health with Seismic Strike, Hammer Strike, or Shield Bash. That’s pretty situational, but can still be very useful in Crucible – and it’s expected to get even better with Forsaken’s TTK pass, making the Titan’s shoulder charge a one-hit kill. You may find better options in PvE, but it’s a very solid piece in PvP that’s soon set to be even better.
Ophidian Aspect‘s unique perk is Cobra Totemic, which puts extra speed on your weapon readies and reloads, and extends your melee range. Those aren’t the most sexy buffs, but they’re useful in every situation no matter what your build is. A good pick.
